The Goddess Series
This was a project for my Photography class. We had to pick a quote(s) and create six images to interact with it. A few months ago, I recieved a package for 'The Goddess'. I certainly didn't feel like a goddess, but somehow the fact that it went through the postal system and still got delivered to me, made it seem official. I am a Goddess... the US Postal Service seemed to think so. It got me thinking about the greeting in India and Nepal. Namaste. Literaly it is, "I greet the god within you". There is a little bit of goddess in even the most unlikely of us.
These images were created using Liquid Light, light sensitive chemicals suspended in an emulsion. I painted the emulsion on envelopes that had gone through the US Postal Service and been delivered to various Goddesses around the states. Thank you to everyone who participated! A special thanks to Cousy Lisa for prompting this whole thing by sending me a package (to the Goddess) and making me feel like a million bucks.
Please forgive the bad reproduction quality. The actual images didn't have flash-streaks, and you could read the addresses on all of them.
